The desert rain frog is a small, chubby fellow with bulging eyes, a short snout, short limbs, spade-like feet, webbed toes, and often, sand clinging to his skin. He also has a transparent area of skin on his belly through which his internal organs can be seen. The natural habitat of the desert rain frog is the subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and sandy shores of Namibia and South Africa. This species is threatened by habitat loss.
