Cat Brings Home Owl

Many animals caught by cats die of bacterial infections later. Keep your cats indoors.

The owl must have been spooked and stressed, first being captured by the cat, then being enclosed in an aquarium.  I hope they set the poor little bird free.

As much as I love cats..I have 3....cats kill billions of birds each year.  Please keep your cats inside.  I'm sure you'll agree that this was a horrible experiance for this owl.  If your cat demands to go out consider building a "catio" for her.  I have one cat that is a terrible hunter, she's only allowed out in our small enclosed back yard at night, after the birds have gone to sleep.  I make sure there aren't any birds roosting in the yard too.  It's not the natural order to let cats kill birds and small mammals, think of the advantage they have coming from a warm home with ample food and water.  Please keep your cats indoors to protect wildlife.

My first reaction just reading the title, was that, "Holy cow, it's a good thing the owl didn't bring the cat home." That's when I finally realized the owl was just a baby, LOL.

What an adorable little owl. My cat brings me gifts, too. I wish he wouldn't. He brought home a little bunny once. I felt so bad for the bunny. We were able to release him in time though.
