Let Me Guide You Into Making Healthy Homemade Treats for Your Cats and Dogs

I’m sure that you’re highly committed to providing your cats and dogs – a loving and treasured member of your family – with a wholesome and healthy diet. However, you may be one of many pet owners who fall into the trap of buying kibbles, treats, and canned pet foods to ensure that your pet only gets the best nutrition possible.

But don’t be duped – many of these conventional pet foods and kibbles are not the nutritious fares they are promoted to be, and may actually be loaded with unhealthy ingredients.

I highly advise you to steer clear of them as they can expose your pet to nutritional imbalances and health problems. Instead, focus on creating homemade dog and cat food that will not only delight, but nourish your pets as well.

But first, here’s the reason I do not advise conventional pet foods and treats for your pets...

Conventional Pet Foods May Be Putting Your Pet’s Health at Risk

Unless you’re buying food made from high-quality, human-grade ingredients, there’s a high possibility that your store-bought pet food does not comply with your pet’s genetic makeup, and may be loaded with questionable ingredients like:

  • Rendered meat/protein made from undesirable animal byproducts from slaughterhouses, which are not fit for human consumption
  • Additives and preservatives such as artificial colors, sweeteners, and flavorings, some of which are potentially carcinogenic
  • Grains and other cheap fillers like corn (a potential allergen) and soy (has estrogenic properties that may cause endocrine damage in pets)

Take note that the pet food industry is very loosely regulated. Even the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), which has established minimum nutritional requirements for domesticated cats and dogs, does not regulate the quality of ingredients pet food producers use in their formulas.

Thus, it’s not surprising that thousands of dogs and cats fall victim to toxic contaminants (like melamine and aflatoxin) in conventional treats and kibbles, leading not only to alarming pet food recalls, but also to millions of heartbroken pet parents having to watch their loving companions become ill or die from these hazardous products.

If this is not enough reason to switch to making homemade dog and cat food for your canine and feline pals then I don’t know what is!

Homemade Dog and Cat Food Recipes You Must Try Today

The good news is that many pet owners are now becoming nutrition-savvy and watchful of what they feed their pets. Here’s what I’ve learned in creating pet treat recipes: you can turn almost any species-appropriate human leftover into something tasty that your pet will love.

So don't throw out that overripe banana or that last little bit of hamburger and veggies. Instead, transform them into a tempting treat for your loving pet!

However, please remember to use only high-quality organic or free-range meats when making homemade pet dog and cat food. I also advise using non-GMO foods, organic produce, and farm fresh or cruelty-free (high-DHA) eggs whenever possible.

To get you started, I would like to share with you my e-cookbook, Homemade Treats for Healthy Pets: Nutritious Recipes for Your Cats and Dogs. This e-book is filled with homemade dog and cat food ideas, which are personally formulated by me and my mom, and that I’m sure your pets will love.

Here’s what’s waiting for you in this e-book:

  • Over 20 species-appropriate recipes – crunchy morsels, savory treats, and even pet-friendly desserts – for your cats and dogs
  • Tips and ideas on how to incorporate unique and healthful ingredients like turmeric, plant seeds, and kefir in homemade dog and cat treats
  • How to use grain-free flour that will not trigger allergies and inflammation for your recipes
  • Special dog and cat food recipes for certain health conditions, including Cushing’s disease, diabetes, and allergies

These dog and cat food recipes are made with high-quality, organic, non-GMO human-grade ingredients, so you can ensure that no preservatives, additives, or unwanted fillers will be present in your beloved pet’s food. To guide you better, I’ve included photos of the procedure and the ingredients we use.
