If you’re a pet guardian, you already know that humans aren’t the only animals with the ability to communicate. Most species on planet Earth converse – with one another in their own language, and also by using universal signals to show aggression or confuse predators, for example.
Animals use a number of different methods of messaging, including two forms of visual communication, as well as auditory, tactile (touch), olfactory, sonar, and vibrational.
One of the strangest (to humans) forms of communication is vibrational or seismic signaling through soil or plant stems. This is the way many insects communicate in the loudly humming, thrumming world beneath our feet.
