Small changes in temperatures of 2 degrees C and 3 degrees C (3.6 degrees F and 5.4 degrees F) may be enough to cause drastic changes in lizards' microbial diversity, which could in turn reduce their ability to survive. Ectotherms like lizards, which depend on their environment to regulate their body temperature, may be among the hardest hit by climate change.
