Not much different from the current crisis with brachycephalic breeds, these pitiful animals are selectively bred for a genetic disorder that leaves them with inappropriate bone formation. Sadly, they're known not to jump like other normal, healthy breeds, possibly because it's too painful.

After speculating about how birds were able to fly over oceans for long distances without sleep, scientists found an innovative way to answer the question: Using GPS technology as a flight recorder of sorts. They also learned that some birds have an instinctive in-flight sleep mode and that other birds and sea creatures have something similar.
