Twice brought to my vet for cortisone shots because it was so bad. Soon after I started her on bovine colostrum regularily. She had stomatitis a few times after but each time it was less and less severe until for the last 5 yrs or so she has not gotten it at all! She loves the powder dry or milky with added water and has it regularitly still. I think all cats with this terrible disease should try this first before extracting teeth! Bovine colostrum from a feed store is pure and cheap compared to the cost of surgery and vet visits. It has numerous and most beneficial components and helpful bacteria to counteract the infection and inflammation of stomatitis and can dramatically increase immune function. It is simply amazing. Has saved me from numerous occasions with problems for animals and even myself!

He has gorgeous teeth. Just like dogs kitties need those bones to clean those teeth. Phytoplankton is another alternative for loosening and dissolving tarter. I have an awesome pet shop that caters to raw feeders that I get the quail from. Hope this helps. With love to all the wonderful fur babies. 💕

Removal of the the teeth does not correct the problem. It handicaps the cat. We’ve given Duralactin supplements to two of our stomatitis kitties and have them both in remission. Stomatitis is an auto immune disease which can be brought on by extreme stress. Both our kitties are retired breeders. Duralactin supplements can be bought on Amazon. Our cats self regulate wanting the supplement as needed and refusing it when they don’t need it. Please consider alternative treatment before full tooth extraction. Both our cats had that done before they came to us and both had raging stomatitis without their teeth when we got them.

They are in relatively good health w. raw food and supplements. Any thoughts from the community or Dr. B when is too old to anesthetize for teeth cleaning? Teeth have generally been okay and cleaned yearly since kittens.
