Boxers were developed in the late 1800s, first from German mastiff-type dogs called Bullenbeissers and Barenbeiszers, and then crossed with mastiffs and bulldogs.

Boxers own a natural bent of doing what they please at times but also have a real tendency to be goofy and a bit clownish.

Dogs of this breed have high energy and run with exuberance, showing their need for regular exercise.

Pay no attention to the name: Boxers are cuddle bugs and gentle with people, plus very good with children.
